I am twice bitten... by photos at Walgreens
Don't even think. I took PP for passport renewal. VEry bad quality.
Still I went to Walagreens and took PP for visit visa to Canada. Rejected by Canadian Consulate in Seattle. Don't waste your time and money.
In Denver / Aurora - there is H-Mart (or HAR Mart). I am also thinking of going to Costco. 6 photos for above age 14 ; else 4. That is what my attorney asked.

You basically get an I131 which has all your immi information on it. It also includes your photo and validity period. There is also an area for stamping it when you re-enter the country. I hope this helps.

BPositive, Sorry to hear that, I am about to apply for AP. My PD is nov 2004, EB2 -I . I am next in line to loose the money. Did you apply online?

PD: Dec 06
I-140: Filed in Premium Processing on May last week
RFE Received: June 1st
RFE Response Sent: June 6th
Status: No updates from USCIS
I-485: I can file based on the pending I-140

Hi Friends,
I am really sick and tired of my attorney. He is making money out of immigrants but he does not like immigrants based on our dicussion.
I think we are very well educated and can easily take care of 485 filing.
My attorney will charge me at least $3000 for it although I got his referral from AILA. On top of that he delays filing my PERM and 140 and having serious attitude problem.
I can easily take care of 485 filing by myself.
My only and great concern is- Is my attorney can screw up my GC processing if I fire him and file 485 on my own?

This is really good news.. Can you please provide more details of your case?
- was it first H1/H4 stamping or renewal?
- do you have I140/I-485 application filed?
- did your employer do anything to inform the US consulate in advance about visa stamping?

There was no communication between the consulate and my employer. I guess it was just luck.

As a hypothetical example (because vehicle prices always depreciate, so please ignore the reality), let's say you bought that Gas guzzling SUV at 50k and now suddenly after 2 years, due to whatever reason, you go and try to sell the same SUV to the same dealer and he quotes you 5k. Wouldn't you fault that dealer for selling you the same thing at 50k when the actual value of the same asset 2 year back was 5k (but he sold you at 50k and you have only paid back 10k in monthly installments until now). Who is to blame for that 35k deficit? You? Forget the monthly payments here and concentrate on the actual asset value.

I bought a house in the year 2006 (2 years back as Punjabi did)....there were reports, news items, articles everywhere talking about the real estate bubble with data available by cities/states. So saying something like "what is the fault of Punjabi" is not fair as we are all here because of our "extraordinarily high skills". And where did the $200 K number come from ? In the city where I live, the average house price was $220,000, I bought a house which was worth $185,000. I knew my limits.
First of all I am not affected by foreclosure and nor do I own a property.
Now let me say this: What is the fault of Punjabi if his house price went down by $200K? He has a load which is not only more than his house value, he is also paying an interest on that loan. It is true that he has got into hot water but how many years will it take to make $200 K? Most of us are not millionaires here. It is true that he will suffer for a few years but I dont see why giving up the house is not an option. Why would he continue to pay interest and principal when his house may not get to the same value in his lifetime? I think foreclosure is a small price to pay in that light.

* The news of potential revision of the July Visa Bulletin is understandably taken very hard by everyone including this reporter. After spending sleepless evenings and weekends, this reporter feels like being hit by lightening rod from sky. But people should keep their emotion under control for a number of reasons: First, the AILA reports that they are working hard to stop the State Department from doing this. No one knows how much it will work, but no one knows whether they will change their mind either. Just calm down. Secondly, even if it is released, we have no idea which categories and how much there will be a retrogression. Some categories may turn out to be not too bad. We will just have to wait and see. Thirdly, the AILF is seeking a legal remedy should this rumor indeed materialize. This lawsuit threat may or may not affect the State Department one way or another. We are all educated people and should have received a proper training to maintain a decent composure and not to lose morality and reveal weakness of the personality. Losing one or two days will not induce the sky failling down. Availability of July 485 filing is at this juncture depends on two factors: One is whether the July Bulletin will indeed be revised and the numbers will be retrogressed. The other is whether the USCIS and the visa posts around the world will be able to adjudicate all the backlog I-485 or immigrant visa applications in a very short period of time. Until the Visa Bulletin revision news popped up, the only factor that would control the issue of how soon one should send in their I-485 applications was the speed of USCIS backlog 485 application adjudications during the next two weeks or beyond. Now, quite unexpectedly, our July 485 filing opportunities have been further mystified by not one but two yet-to-be-known factors - Visa Bulletin Revision and USCIS Backlog I-485 Processing Speed. always amazes me how so many folks depend upon these immigration attorney websites and get disappointed...we are better off supporting IV advocacy and get first hand information on what is going on in DC, USCIS and DOS.

Hi Friends,
Myself and spouse got the GC last month (09/05/2009) and my kid's case was still pending. Today I received CPO mail for my kid.
My kid's RD is July 2, 2007 and ND is November 19, 2007. Actually my kid's 485 was rejected and then reapplied during July 2007 due to old fee and new fee confusion, though I have provided actual fee. That's the reason for my kid's ND was nearly 5 months apart from the RD.
Here is what I did:
Took couple of infopass and numerous calls to Customer Service. Nothing did work properly... Getting same old replies - like, need to wait for 3 months etc... And last time when I took infopass, I requested the IO to expedite the process as this is a small kid's case and more over parents 485 approved. So IO got convinced somehow and expedited the case. After two weeks, got the magic mail.
Best of luck who are still waiting...

Indians do not need a visa to go to Hong Kong also and these days Singapore for those in transit (upto 96 hrs).

My attorney says that my h1 is still valid and I should file for my h1 extension and attach I 94 that I got with my previous h1 extension's approval notice.
