No one is arguing that lot of EB1Cs do not deserve the classification, however; that is not the root cause why we are backlogged. You might get 1000more visas , you would think but at the end of the day , you will close that gateway as well. 1000 EB1 visas are not a major relief for us. And if you think that will resolve the issue, you are mistaken.

The solution however is not to disband the entire H1b system/EB greencard system as the anti immigrants want but to modify the rules surrounding it. I think most fair minded people can agree that this is needed now.

Another question was if I am in my 4th/5th year and know that it might take me another year before I go to CA, can I apply for CA PR again, even when I already have my CA PR OR if I apply for my CA PR immediately after my current CA PR expires, would I get it again (assuming I have the necessary points)

Be honest, I don't know the real answers. You should find a lawyer to discuss this. I just share my thoughts. For your first question. I guess you should have no problem to enter Canada as long as your Maple card is still valid. However, I think when you renew your Maple card, you will have problem. For your second question. The fact is if you go to secondary (grade 6-12) school in a district that have the best schools like Colombo, Kandy and Jaffna (Jaffna used to have some of the best schools, now I am not sure), then you need to score higher than say from someoone from a backward district like Monaragala or Batticalloa that does not have good schools. This does not have anything to do with your ethnicity. It takes in to account that fact that those from areas with best schools with all the facilities have a better chances than those from less developed aras. So a Sinhalese from Colombo or a Tamil or a Muslim from Colombo needs to score slightly higher to get in to college than a Sinhalese from Monaragala or Tamil from Amparai.
Please do not fabricate this kind of propganda. Tamils do have equal rights just as Sinhalese and Muslims in the country. The core of the issue is this blood thirsty and power hungry LTTE terrorists does not want peace. They know that they cannot survive in a peaceful situaltion. That is why thet sabotaged all the previous peace talks.
The LTTE is right now cornered in an area less that 4 square miles. If the SL gov did not care about the safety of the civilians do you really think it is gonna take them this long to finish the LTTE. The reason is that the SL forces are moving very slowly and cautiously to minimize civilian casualties. In fact, India, China, Mexico and Phillipines should have not gone over their 7% as a whole of the 250,000 greencards available. Because of this; dos/uscis learned their lesson and started to follow the law appropriately.
I did say that if in 2006 any country went above their limit of 7% then it would cause a lawsuit which I would be a part of. However, there would be some negative outcomes from it. UScIS/DOS behaviour could only change going forward. They could revoke the greencards issued in 2005 for people who went over the 7% limit (uscis has upto 5 years to rescind greencard if approved by mistake) but they would not get re-allocated because there is no carryover from one year to the next in the current law. Only outcome would be to change it going forward. As I've said in the past; people were spoiled at the laziness of DOS/USCIS. Retrogression and the visa allocation should have happened a long time ago.

The most of the guys posting in this thread is not going to vote. Even I think, we all do not have our names in electoral list. There is no sense in arguing who is best or who should be next PM, sitting in US. Furthermore, most of the educated, urban voters will never go to polling booth in hot summer to stand in line to do their duty as a citizen.. Indian�s election of their representatives is fundamentally a show of money and muscle power. Election in India is just a business. It is just investment of money by political parties with the help of capitalists and their lobbyist to get the vote from rural, uneducated, divided voters across the nation. All parties are corruptive, communal, divisive, plays vote bank politics. No exceptions! (whether it is Congress, BJP, communists, BSP, SP, and countless regional parties). One thing I can say or compare about Congress and BJP. Congress is the only party has responsible for bringing both good (economy, growth, education,) and bad (corruption and countless other) thing to India. BJP has not done any good thing to India sofar, only it brought bad things to India (divisive, corruption).

He does not have long term independent vision, and strong leadership skills. He was widely accepted by all part of the country, as he has no controversial issues.

He is a good speaker, crowd puller. He is a typical Indian politician. He has leadership skills. He does not have any significant record/achievement to back his claim for PM (either as a ex-minister or politician). For example, he has not done anything to improve the national security when he was a union home minister. He has involved in controversial issue like Babri Majit, and Ram temple issue. He also does not have long term vision, ideas on economy, poverty elimination etc..

To add to that, my message to Ron Hira, his IEEE-USA, John Miano, others at programmer's guild, Bernie Sanders etc. :
Your plan to stop outsourcing is really going well. Isnt it ? Well, this is exactly why people like you and John Miano get replaced by hard-working foriegn workers. Because the foriegn workers have a mission to accomplish when they accept a job, unlike you, who intends to do one thing (stop outsourcing) and ends up achieving the opposite (cause outsourcing).
Keep up the good work and blame the foriegn workers for all your problems in life, including global warming.
And Bernie, you are the best. Now tell me, how are you going to protect the Americans whose jobs are being taken and shipped to Canada. Are you planning to run for Senate in Canada ? How about you resign and run for office in Canada and slap a $5000 fee there and also give a grand speech you gave in US senate ? Go Bernie, go.
