In my earlier post, I dint mean to say that all Kinkos are bad, its just the particular one near me was not good enough. The photos were as if they were taken with a yellow filter on their lenses.
Sears did a very good job instead.
You can just tell them that you need photos for passport. They are the same requirements
Think it this way, your photo might be scanned by their machine to be printed on visa/notice. If the photo is not of good quality it might get pixelated after they scan.
So be your own judge, think if you were in USCIS shoes and had to scan a photo and produce it on visa/stamp. They might also use some image recognition softwares for which they require exact speicifications.

Get your Fiance a F1 Visa before marriage. So, she is not married at that time and to US Immigration, she has no plans to immigrate. After she gets the Visa, marry her and bring her here. Technically I think you are OK, only you have to Spend bucks for here education :), which might be fruitful in long run!

Let us focus on the rally and recapture of visa numbers. This more important to all than fighting out the LS issues and finding fault it is not our issue. If the LS guys gets rejects, they deserve it for not using their own Labor, and they a price for the same. Let us not beat them with a stick and focus on what can be done now.
Let us not build hatred against anyone, this can only undermine our efforts. You never know, heard FBI Checks are strict on LS folks, hope that is true, atleast genuine filers get it based on their PD, so be 2001 or 2002 as long as they are the original beneficiary.
Where is it mentioned that LC sub has been rejected ? I looked at the link and

Under predictions for the following months, it is noted that the demand for numbers has not materialized because of persistent backlog. To move things forward they have moved ahead the dates for ROW and the Phillipines. They have also stated that in the future months, they may continue this to include other areas and preference categories. This sounds like good news for those who have their labor certification completed. They also add a caveat that this advancement of dates may lead to eventual sudden and significant backlog in the future when the demand for numbers does materialize (read: when the backlog is actually cleared)

Hi everyone,
I reviewed the text of the bill...and, to the best of my understanding, the Dream Act applies to both legal and illegal children. This bill is crucial for me. I am 27 years old and have been in the United States since age 1 (Yes, 26 years)...LEGALLY!!! My husband (i married another visa holder and changed my status about 5 years ago) and I have been pending for a greencard for about 2.5 years now (I'm not counting the other failed attempts)...and still no luck. I completed my bachelors degree in Psychology years ago and cannot work (my field of study is fairly common in the US...nobody I've come across was willing to sponsor for an h-1). Unfortunately, going back to my "home" county isn't an option for me because this is the only home I've ever known. Anyhow, I would really appreciate everyone's support...hopefully this piece of legislation can benefit people like myself and we can contribute to society as well. Thanks!! :)

Has anyone thought of the people who missed the august 17 deadline because the labor was not cleared within time. Because of no mistake from ourside, we have to suffer. What a screwed up legal situation ?

Sorry to hear about your situation.
The one consolation is that once you get to file your 485, you should not spend too much time in that pending 485 situation.
So if you ask me today, would I rather have filed 485 with a PD of 2006/7 or be in your situation, as bleak as your situation looks today, the better choice might be your situation.

I read somewhere that doctors abroad who do the tests for consular processing cannot be used for AOS medicals.
u'll get RFE only if theres is a mistake in medicals, if there is NO medicals in the 485 packet, i think ur appln will be outright sent back.
whats ur PD, if its in the range of 2000 u still have hope that in next few months ur date becoems eligible for AOS.
ive heard that there are some doctors out there (of questionable integrity) who accept cash and give out medical reports. even tho this is a backdoor approach, u can make a few calls and give it a try. to make ur case more genuine, try to get a list of all attributes recorded in the blood and skin test, and get those done promptly done in india. atleast let the doctor copy over ur wifes actual stats rather than inventing it. If ur case is genuine, may be someone will be merciful to help u out of ur predicament.

last year my friend visited india...he is on 7the year H1, and got 3 yrs extn based on 140. he had attached copy of approved 140 as proof...the chennai visa officer only asked him "is ur company paying for ur GC or you urself" ..he answered Company is paying full amount. and they gave him the visa. :-) if Govt is using approved 140 to give 3 yrs extn, obviously they know the intent to get GC...i dont believe telling truth that ur company is processing GC for you is going to harm you.

We filed our AOS, EAD and AP on Aug 13th at NSC. We are from Santa Clara county in california. I heard that people from santa clara are getting FP's very late?
We have got our Receipts on Sept 30 and EAD on Oct 28th. No FP and AP yet.
My question is how to create service request?
We are planning out of country. Just waiting for this FP to be done.
Can we postpone FP for a specific period of time?

I TRansfered my H1 B Visa first time in the August 2006 from Company A (GC Sponsering Company) to Company B.
Everything went good.
Last year in March i did transfered my H 1 B to Compnay C from Compnay B
and i July last year i applied for my I 485, and got my EAD in Sep 2007.
Now the total 180 days have been passed am i eligible for AC21 and if yes then what are the formalities to get AC21.
Also Compnay A has told me earlier that they will revoke my I 140 but i do not have any means to know wether they did revoke or not, how do i know if they revoked my I 140 is there any way to find this out.
Your Help Will be a big Help for me
As you said I 485 filed + 180 days. So you are out of danger.
1. You can check if your I 140 was revoked using your LIN number for I 140 if you have one
2. To safely use AC21, find out your job title, job description and salary mentioned while filing your I 485
3. Your I 140 should be approved
4. then you can use AC21 with H1B transfer or with your EAD. I would advice to use AC21
5. your sponsoring H1B employer should mention the same job title and job duties as it is mentioned in EVL (employment letter) while filing your 485
6. If you have hired an attorney he would then send a AC21 letter(just a formal letter) with your new offer letter, with your 485 receipt number and 140 number (if you have).
That should take care about your AC21.

I think calling your university presidents and asking them to show their support for these bills would also be a very good idea.
This bill will encourage pursuit of higher education in US by foreign students in a significant way.
Right now for all bills that Zoe proposed there are max 19 co sponser for this last bill. DID you check for STRIVE ACT 2007 which had 78 co-sponsers still could not make it to floor.
We need to call these lawmakers and educated them on these bills.
Chances are less but our investment is not that big. Few minutes in a day to call or write.
This bill will encourage pursuit of higher education in US by foreign students in a significant way.

I didn’t want to go to DC rally due to my surgery appointment (September 6th) because I can not fly for three weeks after the surgery.
