Friends, my AP renewal was received by SRC on June 7th (the receipts says that), but no approvals so far. Any body in the same boat waiting as of June 7 receipt, or has been approved as of that date? Please let me know.

I would stay at least 6 months with employer after getting a GC, unless ofcourse demanded by circumstances!
Are there any implications of leaving my employer now who sponsored me for GC? I got my GC on the first week of July. I plan to leave on the 1st week of September. Thank you very much.

I received USCIS email today saying My I485 is denied . ( I have not received the letter yet). I did sow LUD on my I 140 last week.
I have switched employer after 7 months of 140 aproval. I also sent AC21 letters .
I do not know whether my previous employer revoked the I140 . ( it never changed the status from approved)
For those who got 485 deniel letter , did you see any LUD in I140 just before that ?

I just want to make sure that IV not forgotten People that stuck in PBEC. So far as an active member and an active contributor for IV I have to say that I'm dissapointed as far as the way IV addressed PBEC Issued.
Most of disscussion in IV forum seems like focusing on retrogression issue only.
for people that have their case are among 350000 case pending in PBEC the retrogression has no effect at all unless their case clear out before the retrogression get solved.
There are so many of us had been waiting for their labor get approved.
5, 6, 7 year are a long wait.

As I understand, if we win the lawsuit, they will accept all 485 filed in July, no matter July 2 or 31. But they will process July 2 case first.
In its note http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/VisaBulletin2Jul07.pdf, the USCIS clearly says it would reject applications starting 7/2. So, how can it accept July applications--especially when many of them haven't been sent yet?

The party was mostly good. I only regret that sometimes, I could not hear what people on the other side of the table were talking about. The room was too dark and not quiet enough. It might have been better if we had a round table.

I read from a different post that you can file for AOS if you are out of status for less than 180 days. there is a section 245(k) which allows you to do this. I don't know the accuracy of this info.

My point is if we check our credentials, how many of us are 'true' innovators? I know I am not, I am an expert in what I do and am an asset to my company but I haven't filed any patents or publications which would be the true requirement for this country. My skills are indeed readily available in domestic workers as well. Could that be the reason for the backlog in EB-3 and none in EB-1? So do we need to do a reality check here? Just wondering if this could be the reason why we're getting a raw deal. Could it be that 'highly skilled' is not enough but 'genius' and 'highly skilled' is what's required here? Just a thought.
I sit next to am all American worker who has 30 years of experience, has 3 master's degrees and claims some major achievements in his technical life. Wiring is the cheapest I believe.
You will also need a clearance from IT dept in india.
RBI may ask for a reason for taking money out, which you should be able to justify.

I have applied for my H1b extension back in April......Have not heard anything yet........once I get my H1b approval, can I apply for H4 extension from inside the country?? (Is that even required if you are already in AOS pending status?)

In trying to play the "devil's advocate", you still did not answer my question. i.e. "Let me ask you a simple question. What CAN be the "perceived benefit" from a rally like this that would make you think that it would be worth attending? Is it something like a guarantee for a GC in 2 months or a bill that passes next month that does everything we legals want? What is it?"

My first reaction. You're kidding, right! Ever worked in marketing/sales?? When you go to sell your product or service, you try to sell it from the point of view of the customer. In this case, what the benefit can be from the point of view of the US govt and US economy. Yes, our primary aim is to get our GC's in a reasonable time frame. The slogans and messages are in support of these ( By the way both happen to be true).
Incidentally, even the spark in Gandhi was ignited when he personally was insulted and thrown from a train. My point being that it is only when we personally are affected by an issue that we react to it. The reaction ofcourse differs based on our own individual character, personality and other traits.

are you sure one can fund an NRE account in Rs?
i've had an NRE account and the only way to put money is in $. you can then withdraw the money in $ or Rs, but i haven't heard of being able to fund it with Rs to start with.
i believe that students can also bring a much bigger chunk nowadays, maybe try that track.
also, if the $100K can be brought to the US each yr, why can't parents send it here as a gift, what is the deal with 30%, does someone know?
Check ICICI. I think it is called a NRE account. You can fund it in Dollars and Rupees and it could be repatriated in Dollars. So just open the account and have them deposit the monies India, you can draw it here. This kind of account is for NRI's who earn an income in India and want to access it here.
There is a limit I think but it must be like $25K..

i've had an NRE account and the only way to put money is in $. you can then withdraw the money in $ or Rs, but i haven't heard of being able to fund it with Rs to start with.
i believe that students can also bring a much bigger chunk nowadays, maybe try that track.
also, if the $100K can be brought to the US each yr, why can't parents send it here as a gift, what is the deal with 30%, does someone know?
Check ICICI. I think it is called a NRE account. You can fund it in Dollars and Rupees and it could be repatriated in Dollars. So just open the account and have them deposit the monies India, you can draw it here. This kind of account is for NRI's who earn an income in India and want to access it here.
There is a limit I think but it must be like $25K..
