I was watching the program 20/20 on ABC called Myth, Lies and Nasty Behavior today. It was like an investigative journalism program.

I guess Phone answering people job is to answer the phones(not receipting), correct me if I am wrong.
if they've less calls, they can do some other real work.
in any case..they took 1-3 months in case of reciepting 65K H1s. How soon do you think they can receipt 10 times that number..

If you believe in what you said then you would not be in this forum. Why are you in this country?
1. If you said you came here for your Master's and then found and job and applied for GC and been stuck there and now realized that this process stinks and decided to go back its fine by me, then you have no place here.
2. If you said you came here after your education on work visa and then applied for GC and stuck here and now realized that this process stinks and decided to go back its fine by me, then you have no place here
3. If you feel superior to all the folks who are in this forum then you have no place here.
4. If you think working for some company as a FT employee makes you qualified,oh btw i dont care if its a Fortune 10 company, been there done that, then you have no reason to be here. After all you think you are priveleged and superior to other folks in here.
5. Whats this superiority of being a FT employee over Contractor? I have been in this country now for over 10 yrs and worked as FT employee and Contractor. I dont see anything special in being a FT employee over a contractor. Just because you became a FT employee does not mean the company thinks you are the most perfect person to be their employee, it means you fit in their budget and they want to milk you services, so you become a 'one client wonder'. Contractor on the other hand gets paid more, gets to work on different projects . There is some uncertaininty due to job changes etc but if we are tracking it right its works well, in my last 4 yrs of contracting never been out of job.
6. What I have seen by the way you bash others in this thread shows that you somehow think you are superior to others(which is okay if you keep it to yourself). Pardon me for saying this, you are stepping over the line. Few days ago there was a thread where one guy got banned due to some stupid comments like you about fake degrees, fake resumes and that he was somehow more deserving of the GC than the others.
when you are in a public forum conduct yourself with dignity and try to help others and get help and not try to push your convoluted ideas and come across as a jerk. Staying in this country means many things to different people and does not constitute to not loving our home countries in anyway

Just Thought
There is 200k application without 140 approval, this is including july filers.
there is lot of chnace for those who got their I-140 approved, even their PD '2006.
you can see people getting approved PD'2005 EB2 cases, even then VB says now 2004'apr for EB2.They are not processing based on PD now and in future also i gues.Since we have already filed.PD will restrict only to File I-485 in future.
I think EB2-jan2007 and EB3-Aprl2005 in October VB

Your are thinking under two assumptions:
1. There is nothing left for innovation in the tech field. so no new job creation is expected in the future.
2. There will be more supply of tech workers which will surpass the job creation rate (if in any amount) thereby depressing the wages.
who is to know that your assumptions are correct? :confused:
Whereas the reality is the job creation has been exponentially growing because of emerging technologies and the will to immigrate to US is surely on decrease and add reverse brain drain to it. So for next 5-10 years it will become increasingly difficult to find talented people as they will be evaporated from the market because of 65K H1B cap for last 3 years and a huge outflux of talented professionals.
I said this before in my previous posts and i will say it again. I you are worth your salt and know what you are doing, you will be worth your weight in gold in coming years. Stick to the fight and get your GC. :cool:
(BTW, for these opinions, i am inspired by a recent book i read on globalization- The world is Flat by Thomas Friedman. I think it shall be a must read for every H1B to GC applicant)

With the current rate of outsourcing happening around in US and the rate of influx of temporary workers coming in on mostly L1 and may be few on H1 B Visas every year through the outsourcing companies , i am sceptical about the future of GC aspirants. With the way of GC processing happening which are caused by restrictions /policies of governing bodies and no sight of positive relief in near future i am little apprehensive about the future.
I feel that there might be no areas that are not impacted by Outsourcing boom . Most of the companies that i see and my friends work ,i see many of the operations are outsourced or planning in place to get outsourced.
with the current rate of outsourcing and subprime mess which may cause slow down in economy , i am not sure if there would be any positions to support our AOS , when our PD becomes current. Some times i think , the fight for GC is even worth it.

well you guys are the kings of jumping ahead of the line using labor substitution...how can any of us be knowledgable on the subject...contact unitednations or ppl like him who "help" the skirters of the law.

Well said yabadaba , the fact is that Desi Consulting companies have used labour sub as a carot for so long , some to the extent of selling it.And there were people who were always interested too.Many of them were not confident of clearing labour on their own credentials ( BSC Zoology, BBA, BCOM etc..) or probably wanted to jump the line.
A mistake on USCIS part too , why they allowed this malpractice for so long , even now when they have stopped it , quite a damage is already done.

Also I agree what Logiclife said when it comes to payments..
I went thru COBRA for the last 2 months I tell you its a PAIN IN THE A##.
Yeah premiums are very high. due to some gross miscommuniation on the provider they cancelled my COBRA for december since they didnt recieve payment.
ONce you quit our current job, you will get within 7-10 days details from ur current insurance cpmpany or a third party administrator which ur company uses. They will also send a payment coupon. (not a discount coupon..).
I hope your new company is paying the COBRA reimbursements for you...if not there is a loop hole in COBRA taht you can use and NOT pay the payments since you will have grace period. HOWEVER please keep in mind that the new insurance with your new company may have some restrictions on pre existing conditions...so keep an eye on that..since its for 30 days you will get on to a new insurance personally I wouldnt care for CBORA if the premiums are too high, why becuase, remember the coverage is RETROACTIVE, so you can get a claim reimbursed later after within the grace period

easyvishwak, there is a common disclaimer in any of the internet forums that you take the information with a pinch of salt. people post their experiences, whether to follow or not is totally your call. So those guys who attended the hearings or met with senators. what was the result? what did they accomplished? did they get the opportunity to participate with the senator or law maker in an action plan? or we just wasted that opportunity asking for autographs? please those guys post your comments.
So, with this posting I assume that you neither attended the rally nor put in any effort towards it cause. I sincerely wish I am wrong. Don't be so dumb and also claim that you are high skilled, they don't go together. Yes, we did get our autographs and we have the right to flaunt for what we did at DC. You have the right to post what you wish but don't ever again ridicule the people who put in the efforts.

I think desi3933 is correct. It is the employees responsibility to maintain the status and all the employee can do is to sue the employer for the pay. Even I am not sure about 30 day rule, but employee should be getting payed on H1B. Also it may only be necessary to prove the legal status since the last entry.

There were times when I was really depressed, specially when I got delayed in New Delhi with "Name clearance" for H-1 renew. However, I believed in higher power and never lost hope. My parents (mother US citizen,father GC) always kept my spirits high. I also got a lot of support at my job (when I got stuck in India, my chief pulled all strings possible to get me cleared).
I also had a backup plan, where I could go to Canada or worst, can go back to India where I have an established practice.
Botomline, do not loose hope and work hard.

It was EB2. The vast majority of the CA's we show equivalent to a US bachelor's degree. However in this case since it is officially recognized as a PGD a professor felt it was equivalent to a US masters and USCIS agreed. As a rule I would say CA=BA + 5 years work exp is a better way to go for EB2.
